ASSET – BAC Project

This is one part of a 45 minute course for sellers and servers of alcohol. Most training I have experienced for alcohol intoxication are bullet lists of indicators. If there is more, it is versions of intoxication indicators that are extreme, making it harder for people to really get an idea of what legal intoxication looks like.

We decided to do it differently. We hired 4 actors and paid them to get drunk. We recorded them twice – once giving their name and a 5 second story and once approaching the bar and ordering the drink. The bar tender decided when to cut them off and gave us the indicators for why – she nailed everyone of them at .08. Every 20 minutes we recorded their BAC and put them through field sobriety tests as a secondary opinion of intoxication.

We then used two of the actor’s progression for the course and the other two as part of the assessment – would you serve this person?

ASSET Assessment – would you serve this person?

This is the assessment for the BAC Project, part of the ASSET Course. If you claim to be training someone to be able to do a thing, you have to measure whether they can do it. Just like having videos of the progression to intoxication is essential for helping participant’s ability to identify intoxicated persons, the assessment needs to measure whether they can, as well.

We used the video of the other two actors who were part of the BAC Project for the assessment. They see a before and an after of each, decide whether to serve them, and then, if they choose not to serve, have to identify why they would not serve that person.

ADP Login simulator

The company was having issues with people not punching in and out as they were supposed to. Many said they didn’t quite understand how to do so, despite the presence of job-aids available after a search. Also, in order to hold people accountable, they need to have consistency and continuity in their training. By creating software simulators, you create both, thus accountability, as well.

This simulator was the answer. I had been pushing for all software being trained through simulators instead of job-aids and PowerPoint presentations, or screen casting as an SME ran through it.

This simulator was created as a team effort. I created the template, the functionality, design, and the concept of “See, Try, Do.” Zoe Sugg developed the content and did the voice over work, and did a bang up job on it!

Intro to GDPR

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation was going into effect in May of 2018 – I had to become the Subject Matter Expert, write the content, and develop four courses in 45 days. This was the first eLearning to resolve rumors and angst within the 2,000+ front line employees who had heard about it, but did not know what it meant.

What is Office 365?

This is the introduction to the new product role out that preceded formal training in sales and support of Office 365. I created the use cases to help illustrate the type of user for each product which was carried over into scenario and role-play activities within the instructor led training.
