Jacobs, et al, delivered the Advanced Training Development for Law Enforcement Instructors course for members of the National Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (NLEFIA).
This was the third iteration in the validation of this course. While the course was successful and appreciated, it did demonstrate the need for smaller, topical versions of the course, in a different arrangement. The result is a five part course that is designed to be more direct in specific topics, with increasing levels of advanced concepts. The courses are being renamed:
– Advanced Training Development for Law Enforcement Instructors (ATD for LEI) is going to be Instructional Design for Law Enforcement Instructors.
– The ATD for LEI will be changed to a series of single classes of varying lengths (the longest being three days) following the ADDIE framework of training development.
